Figures are an estimate, not a quote. Bring them into a test ride at Clonskeagh, Rathgar, Cork or Galway and we'll confirm against your payroll.
How the scheme works
- Your employer buys the bike and deducts the cost from your gross pay, so you pay no income tax, PRSI or USC on that amount.
- The exemption limits are €1,500 for an e-bike and €3,000 for a cargo e-bike, including safety equipment. Anything above the limit you pay yourself.
- You can use the scheme once every four years, counted by tax year, and repay over up to 12 months.
- Your saving is your marginal rate: 2026 rates are 20% or 40% income tax, 4.35% PRSI and 0.5–8% USC depending on income.
- Your employer has to operate the scheme. Most Irish employers do.
