S2 questions
Can I buy the S2 on the bike to work scheme?
Yes. The scheme covers €1,500 towards an e-bike, so on a €1,799 S2 you pay the €299 balance and the rest comes out of gross salary — a saving of up to 52% on the covered portion.
What's the difference between the S2 and the S1 or SX?
The S2 has a front hub motor: lighter and the best value of the three. The S1 (65Nm) and SX (80Nm) use mid-drive motors, which climb considerably better, and the SX adds a belt drive and stepless Enviolo gearing. See the low-step comparison.
How far will the S2 really go on a charge?
Up to 90km is measured on the lowest assist level at a steady pace on flat ground. On hills, on higher assist, in winter, plan for roughly half that.
Is the step-through frame easier to get on?
That's the point of it. There's no top tube to swing a leg over, which suits riders with less mobility, anyone in work clothes or a skirt, and anyone who stops and starts a lot in traffic.
Which size should I pick?
Small (44cm) suits riders 151–165cm, Medium (48cm) suits 165–184cm. Maximum rider weight is 95kg.
Can I test ride one?
Yes, at Clonskeagh, Rathgar (Bear Cycles), Cork and Galway. Book a test ride. More answers on our e-bike FAQs page.
