Where to safely park your ebike in Dublin

Dublin is a fantastic city for cycling, eating and drinking. The city is buzzing with people so if you do venture in and want to wander for a few hours, we have the best tips on where to safely leave your bike.

1. Choose Well-Lit, High-Traffic Areas: Thieves avoid well-lit spots with plenty of foot traffic. Opt for areas with CCTV when possible, especially near shopping centers or train stations.

2. Use a Strong Lock: Invest in a high-quality D-lock or U-lock; lightweight locks can be easily broken. For added security, consider using a second lock to secure both wheels. Kryptonite are our recommended lock of choice, they also offer an anti-theft guarantee, meaning you get money back if your bike is stolen.

3. Lock Your Bike Correctly: Attach the lock through both the frame and the wheel to an immovable object. Make sure your bike is in contact with the lock to prevent twisting or prying.

4. Remove Accessories: Lights, saddles, and other detachable parts are quick targets. Bring them with you or lock them separately.

5. Check for Bike Parking Hubs: Dublin City Council has dedicated parking locations in popular areas, such as the Smithfield and Drury Street bike bunkers, which provide sheltered, secure bike storage.
